CINCINNATI — Reece-Campbell, Inc., one of the region’s largest commercial building contractors, will be the first business to locate in Lockland’s new Hamilton County Regional Business Park. The firm recently purchased a 10,000-square-foot building on approximately 3.5 acres from the Hamilton County Regional Business Park, LLC and is planning to move its workforce to the new location within the month.
The Hamilton County Regional Business Park is located on the former Celotex plant on South Anthony Wayne Avenue in Lockland. The Business Park is currently undergoing cleanup and redevelopment with the help of a $2.88 million Clean Ohio Grant awarded with the assistance of the Village of Lockland and the Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority. Reece-Campbell purchased the only building that was not demolished as part of the site cleanup and redevelopment project. The building was constructed in 2000.
The move will bring 75 jobs to the area and marks the end of Lockland’s 20-year job-loss trend brought on by the closing of several large manufacturing facilities, including Celotex, American Tissue, Jefferson Smurfit and Stearns & Foster. Upon the project’s completion, the Hamilton County Regional Business Park will offer more than 230,000 square feet of industrial, warehouse, office, commercial and retail space, and may bring as many as 250 jobs to Lockland.
“After 27 years in our current building, we found ourselves outgrowing our facility and in need of additional space capable of accommodating our future growth,” said Pete Chronis, Reece-Campbell president. “Having the opportunity to be a part of a neighborhood revitalization project is an attractive associated benefit.”
Jim Brown, the Mayor of Lockland, is pleased at the progress being made at the Hamilton County Regional Business Park and at the announcement of the first tenant. “We are happy to welcome Reece-Campbell to Lockland and look forward to the continued development of the Hamilton County Regional Business Park,” Mayor Brown said.
Pete Mather, Manager of the Hamilton County Regional Business Park, LLC, is “excited about the opportunity to participate in the revitalization of Lockland and develop this centrally located business park with Reece-Campbell as the anchor.”
